

Being Clothed as a Liveryman by the Worshipful Company of Spectacle Makers March 2025

Stuart Jolly is an accomplished and internationally recognized professional within the optical industry, dedicated to advancing excellence in vision care and optical practice. A qualified Dispensing Optician, he holds a Bachelor of Science in Ophthalmic Dispensing from The University of Bradford, and is a Fellow of the Association of British Dispensing Opticians (FBDO).
Stuart’s contributions to the profession have been formally acknowledged by The Worshipful Company of Spectacle Makers, one of London’s historic Livery Companies, founded in 1629 and committed to improving vision and eliminating unnecessary blindness worldwide. In recognition of his professional achievements and service to the field, he was admitted as a Freeman of the Company in 2023, and further honored as a Liveryman in 2025.
In the same year that Stuart became a freeman of the Worshipful Company of Spectacle makers he was also awarded the Freedom of the City of London, one of the oldest civic distinctions conferred upon individuals who have demonstrated excellence and integrity in their professional endeavors.
Beyond these honors, Stuart continues to play an active role in shaping the optical industry. He is a former Vice President of The Vision Council’s Retail Division and remains deeply engaged across the global vision community, frequently participating in industry conferences, seminars, and professional forums across multiple continents.
